Dr. Cox is a board certified psychiatrist who welcomes adults and older adolescents from all backgrounds and over a wide breadth of diagnoses. His experience with mental health issues in various clinical settings and, indeed, having it hit very close to home has led to not only a dedication to the most comprehensive treatment, but to a compassion and understanding through which you will have an unwavering ally to help you work toward your goals.
Dr. Cox is well practiced in mood and anxiety disorders of all types. As an Active Duty Navy Physician, he has a specific proficiency in treating PTSD. That said, he is more than capable of diagnosing and treating a complete range of diagnoses such as ADHD, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and schizophrenia.
After spending 6 years with the US Navy and working all over the world, Dr. Cox came back to the US and received his BS and MS in Biology at Purdue University. He then went on and studied medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine where he earned his medical degree. Following medical school, Dr. Cox trained in adult psychiatry at the University of Michigan. He is board certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He serves as a staff psychiatrist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as well as running his own private clinic here in Bethesda, MD.

Our Telehealth appointments are becoming more and more popular with patients. It can help simplify the appointment process and removes the complications of extra time needed for travel to an in person appointment. Our Telehealth platform, IntakeQ, is very user friendly and can be accessed on a computer, phone, or tablet.
Our office is conveniently located in the 3 Bethesda Metro Center building in downtown Bethesda. The red line and bus system stops at our building. Due to COVID-19, the building is currently under lockdown therefore patients must meet the provider at the main entrance on Woodmont Ave. Once you have arrived, you can call the office number and someone will be down to get you.
